Lido 14 Bulletin #1
This is
the very first e-mail bulletin from the Lido 14 Class Association!
First,
a few notes and ground rules.
The
email addresses used in this mailing were provided by members in good
standing
with the Class Association. They are
the same as those that will
be
published in the Class Roster/Handbook and as such are only intended for
use by
fellow members. The Lido 14 Class
Association will not knowingly
provide
these addresses to non-members. We will only intentionally publish
an
email address to the public (i.e. via the Web page) with the explicit
permission
of each member. Initially, I'm going to
send bulletins using
Blind
Carbon Copy (BCC) transmissions. This
should hide your address from
everyone
else's view.
Use of
fellow member's email addresses for commercial purposes is strictly
frowned
upon (it's way bad netiquette to spam!)
If
someone does spam you, please feel free to spam the heck out of them.
Better
yet, let me know and we'll gang up on him/her.
Got the point?
If, in
the future, we see a need for commercial notices, we'll create
another
email broadcast channel for just that use.
If you have
an item for submission, comments, changes, corrections, etc.,
please
address them to me, John Papadopoulos, the Lido 14 Class Webmaster at
jakp@mindspring.com. I'm often travelling and can't always
respond to
emails
promptly. Be patient as I work out the
rhythm of this bulletin. In
fact, I
hop onto a plane in just a few hours to attend the US Sailing
Championship
of Champions and then I'm off to watch the Olympic Trials for
the 470
class in St. Pete, FL. I expect to be
online while away but you
never
know.

Balboa
Yacht Club's Sunkist Series is starting in just a few weeks. This
series
spans 4 months (one day each month) and is decidedly low key and fun
given
that the start/finish is adjacent to the club, allowing for
refreshment
breaks between races. Note...no entry fee!. Click the following

read the Sunkist Series Notice of Race
(http://www.lido14.org/1999BYCSunkistNORinside.htm). If you want to come to
Newport
for the weekend and want a place to crash, send email to
jakp@mindspring.com
and we'll find a place to put you up.
