Subject:
Lido 14 Class Association Bulletin #4
This is
the 4th in an irregular series of notices to the general membership
of the
Lido 14 Class Association.
*** First, I would like to draw your attention
to the newly revised Lido 14
Web
Page. A much more modern design has
been implemented which will allow
for the
easy addition of new content and services.
Please take it out for a
spin
and let me know if you find any problems or if you have any
suggestions. The down side of the upgrade is that many,
if not all, the
URL's
that have been sent to you in prior Bulletins, emails, etc. are now
defunct. Unfortunately, progress has its costs.
If
there is a particular page of the web that you want to access and can't
seem to
find it anymore, please let me know and I'll be happy to guide you
to it.
*** Second,
Roger Patterson (of Mission Bay, CA) has recently informed me
that
Coronado Yacht Club has invited Lido 14's to attend their One Design
Regatta
on October 14 & 15. An entry form
is available on the web page by
going
to the 2000 Calendar of Events and clicking on the "Entry" link next
to the
One Design Regatta entry on the calendar.
I have requested but not
yet
received a Notice of Race for this regatta.
I suggest contacting Roger
Patterson
or Coronado YC to get more info. Roger
can be reached at
lidopatt@inetworld.net
and Coronado YC's web page is www.coronadoyc.org
*** Third, a few typographical errors were found
in the Notice of Race for
the
Schock Regatta. The published schedule
for the clinic and practice race
were
incorrectly stated. The clinic is at
1515 hours and the practice race
is at
1700 hours. A corrected Notice has been
published on the San
Francisco
YC web page. Go to www.lido14.org for a
quick link to the revised
NOR. For those that are interested, the Board of
Directors will be holding
their
fall meeting at 7:30 at SFYC. All
members are welcome to sit in on
the
meeting.
*** Fourth, we are a day away from closing the
door for accepting articles
and ads
for the October BowWave. If you have
something to contribute,
please
send it to me ASAP (I'm acting as a go-between for a temporary editor
for
this issue of the BowWave).
*** Fifth, Stephanie and I will be leaving for
Sydney this coming Monday to
watch
the Olympic Regatta. I should be able
to send and receive emails at
the
usual address of jakp@mindspring.com if you need to get in touch with
me. I will return to California on the 30th.
Sincerely,
John
