2003 Emerald Cup

Allan Stults and Terry Sellars won the Lido 14
Class in Triton Yacht Club's annual Emerald Cup Regatta on Fern Ridge Lake in
Eugene, Oregon. This was the first year that the Lidos got their own start
having 5 boats entered. 4 of the boats were from Fleet 81, all of whom
welcomed Dick and Blanche Chase from Fleet 36.
The weather was fantastic, although, maybe a bit too warm Saturday at 90
degrees. The 12 to 15 mph winds out of the north helped keep those on the
water cool. Sunday saw cooler temps at 80 and much stronger winds from the
southwest at 18 to 25. The Lido sailors were not disappointed when the
race committee called the regatta after the second race on Sunday. ( After
talking with many of the Santana 20 sailors, neither were they!)
