Lido 14 Fleet 1 (Newport Beach, CA), the Organizing Authority for the 2010 Lido 14 Class Championship Regatta (CCR), encourages all Lido 14 racers to start their planning for the regatta. Having been in development by Fleet 1 for over 9 months, the regatta will be held July 12-14 (Monday thru Wednesday) on Huntington Lake immediately following Fresno Yacht Club's High Sierra Regatta. As demand is high for lodging at the venue, it is particularly important to plan/reserve your lodging as soon as possible.
Please visit the Fresno Yacht Club website page for the High Sierra Regatta to learn about lodging choices and other information of interest.
Lido 14 Fleet 1 has run the championships many times at this venue and looks forward to bringing excellent racing and social programs to you once again. The notice of race will be published in the spring of 2010 here on this website as well as in the Associations' BowWave newsletter. We will be following the traditional format of one day of Qualifying Series races on Monday followed by Championship Series racing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Note that races will not rely solely upon the marks set by Fresno YC for the High Sierra Regatta (located around the perimeter of the lake). Additional marks will be positioned mid lake to allow shorter windward/leeward races so that the total time on the water (especially during the Qualifying Series) can be well managed.
Also plan on family friendly fun and entertainment and VERY affordable catered dining each evening - making for less work on your part so that you can relax and enjoy the spectacular environs of Huntington Lake and Lakeshore Resort AND get sufficient rest for excellent championship racing at the 7000 foot elevation of the High Sierra mountains.
