2004 Lido 14 Sr. Class Championship Regatta
Day 3 (Wednesday Aug. 11) Report
Today was the conclusion of the Class Championships. Four races were completed as scheduled - all sailed in light (and shifty!) winds.
Due to all the work in preparing for the awards, packing up to come home, etc., we don't have blow by blow details of the races. As you can see from the races results below for R5 thru R8, there were some inversions of the fleet from time to time. This blended who was up at the top of each Gold flight race however regatta. Though defending Champions Markg Gaudio & John Papadopoulos showed very good consistency, Stu's ability to get out of the fray and hit the first big shift put him up front most of the time. In summary, there was outstanding efforts by all but Stu, who won the Championships in 1975 and has been working hard to win ever since, really had speed and smarts more so than anyone else this regatta. Congratulations Stu.
